Title: Anna Dressed in Blood
Author: Kendare Blake
Genre/s: Young Adult, Paranormal Fantasy, Horror, Romance

Synopsis:

Just your average boy-meets-girl, girl-kills-people story...

Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.

So did his father before him, until his gruesome murder by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father’s mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. Together they follow legends and local lore, trying to keep up with the murderous dead—keeping pesky things like the future and friends at bay.

When they arrive in a new town in search of a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas doesn’t expect anything outside of the ordinary: move, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he’s never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, but now stained red and dripping blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.

And she, for whatever reason, spares his life.

My Thoughts:

I've been wanting to read this book ever since I found it on Goodreads about 4 months ago. I fell in love with the cover immediately, it was like love at first sight. And now that I finally have it after 4 months of waiting, I can say that it was all worth it.

If I will describe this book in one word, it was AWESOME. In two words, well, SUPERCALIFRAGILISTIC EXPIALIDOCIOUS!!!

Anna Dressed in Blood is funny, bloody, creepy, brutal and badass. It will make you shiver, disgusted, paranoid, laugh, all at the same time.It can make you imagine unimaginable things. It's all the things I expected and more.

Kendare Blake created a world so hauntingly beautiful and I'm addicted to it. I was hooked from the first chapter until the very end and I'm really sad that it ended so soon. I want more of Anna, in all her goddess of death glory.

So Girl of Nightmares, beware. Because I'm going to hunt you and I won't stop until you're finally mine!. *evil laugh*
